Particle Physics Research
at Royal Holloway

The Centre is active in a varied program of research activities. We are currently working on four major experimental projects - the ATLAS experiment at the large hadron collider (LHC), the BABAR experiment at PEP-II, SLAC, plans for an International Linear Collider (ILC) and e-science (the Grid). At the end of 2002 we completed our work on the ALEPH project at the end of a programme that lasted 20 years.

The Centre has strong scientific links with many other laboratories in the UK, Europe and elsewhere, including laboratories in Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland and Russia. Amongst current and recent personnel in the group are postdoctoral fellows and postgraduate students from these and other countries. The Centre has about 35 members and is supported by grants from PPARC, the European Union and the Royal Society.
