How to use NetMeeting from the UCL & RHUL livenet studios --------------------------------------------------------- These procedures are in a state of development. First, run NetMeeting on the PCs at both RHUL and UCL. Then at UCL's NetMeeting, go to "New call" and enter: To: 134.219.102.1 (the IP address of the PC at RHUL) Using: automatic and click "call". The people at RHUL should see a dialogue box on their screen allowing them to answer the call. Now start whatever presentation you want to show, e.g., powerpoint. Then go to "tools" -> "sharing" and you will see a list of programs to share with the other PC. Double click on the program; this should immediately become visible on the other PC. You can have the program controlled by either PC (see the "allow control" and "request control" controls). In principle, it should work as well to place the call from RHUL to UCL, but we have not yet succeeded in doing this. For reference, the IP address of the PC in the UCL livenet studio is 128.40.37.227. The UCL livenet studio's phone number is 020 7679 7029. The Livenet expert at UCL is Phillip Riebold. He can be reached at 020 7679 9259. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ G. Cowan 5 October 2006
