Statistical Methods in Particle Physics The talk will review the important statistical methods in Particle Physics, with particular emphasis on those currently used at the Large Hadron Collider. This will cover statistical tests for discovering new phenomena as well as placing limits on parameters of new models. Both frequentist and Bayesian methods will be described, with particular emphasis on treatment of systematic uncertainties through introduction of nuisance parameters. The talk will also address important statistical tools such as multivariate methods for event selection and unfolding (deconvolution) of distributions.
