Church 9: Virginia Water Methodist
Time: 2:40pm
Overcoming some hills we arrived in Virginia Water. The methodist church was our first stop. I'm sorry to say that this is quite possibly the ugliest church I've ever seen, though it could be argued that aesthetics are not the prime function of a church so why should it matter. The building implies nothing about the congregation and liveliness of the church of course. The foundation stone proclaimed that it was laid in 1958 which is perhaps why it reminded me of my 1950s/60s primary school and sadly the surrounding church grounds did nothing to improve that impression. The church was not open so we took our photo and left.
