Running the Event Display

This proceeds in the same way as at RAL:

type 'xhost +' from one window of the terminal you are logged on to enable clients to connect from any host to your terminal (or PC).

On BaBar1, ensure that your 'OO_FD_BOOT' environment variable is seto to point to the federated database that contains the collection of events you want to display (see Using the Database for all the details)

If you are using the 8.3.3 or newer releases, please follow the instructions in Paul's display page; however, if you are running the 8.3.1 release, do the following:

after having created your Test Release , go in the 'workdir' directory and run the following script:

workdir> disprun

Many different modules are enabled and executed, until the program stops and you have the following prompt:

IfrGraEnv>

Type 'exit' and then set the collection and number of events you want to run over:

> mod talk BdbEventInput
BdbEventInput > collectionName set yourCollection
BdbEventInput > exit

> ev begin -nev nEventsToDisplay

If you leave off the '-nev', you will have to view ALL events in the collection before exiting the display. The initial event display window does not not display much information. To add information from the different subdetectors click on Edit->EventDisplay from the 'Observers' menu in the GraModule window.
