  • MC Production using the PC farm

The RH PC farm is presently used to produce new SP4 MC events, in collaboration with other UK institutions (QMW, Bristol, Liverpool, Birmingham). The production is done using a dedicated account on the PC farm ( babarmc) and writing directly into the Objectivity DataBase. The Objectivity DB is installed on the RAID disks of the SUN (babar1), that is therefore our Objectoviry server. David Smith is currently taking care of the production in all the partecipating sites. There is a plan to use the GLOBUS in order to consider this farms as just one MC production farm.

    SP3 Kanga Files

Some SP3 MC events have been copied here from RAL: these events are stored in the following directories:
    /datastore/kanga/EventStore/groups/SP/ , /datastore2/kanga/EventStore/groups/SP/

The list of the varous MC events that are currently availabe can be found here. Since these are SP3 Monte Carlo, in order to analyze them, the 'RootConditionsFile' variable in your .tcl file must be set to 'kanga/CondDB/SP3Conditions.root'.
You can check what is available by using the kangaruns script (modified to work also at RH).

    SP2 Kanga Files

Some Continuum MC events (~2 GByte) produced by the IC group are stored in the following directory:
    /datastore/kanga/IcSim/

To analyze these events, the 'kanga/CondDB/SP2Conditions.root' must be assigned as 'RootConditionsFile'.
