Welcome to to PH4442 -- Advanced Particle Physics. The course is taught by Glen Cowan.

Time and place: Place: The 2026/27 course takes place Fridays 2-5 pm starting 2 October ending 11 December (11 weeks with no reading week). Lectures are in London in Stewart House, Room 4. The entrance to Stewart House is through Senate House, Malet Street, London WC1E 7HU -- here is a map. Once in Senate House go up the big staircase, turn left and through the corridor past the Royal Holloway sign.

What the course is about: The goal of the course is to develop concepts of particle physics including relativistic quantum mechanics, Feynman diagrams, cross sections and decay rates, weak interactions and neutrino physics, the Standard Model, QCD, LHC physics.
